History

History of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists Thailand (SCCT)

The Society of Cosmetic Chemists Thailand (SCCT) was established in 1996 by pioneering scientists and industry professionals who recognized the need for a unified platform to promote cosmetic science in Thailand. From its inception, the society has not only championed scientific advancement but also fostered collaboration between academia, industry, regulators, and the global cosmetic community.

Milestones and Achievements

1996: SCCT founded with the mission to elevate standards and professional knowledge in cosmetic science across Thailand.
1997–2005: Under the vision of its inaugural president, SCCT developed its first professional seminars and created connections with regional societies, supporting the Thai cosmetic sector’s rapid growth.
2006–2010: The second president’s leadership saw SCCT achieve full membership in the International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists (IFSCC), providing Thai members critical access to international research and opportunities.
2011: A landmark year—the society successfully hosted the IFSCC Conference in Bangkok, welcoming delegates from around the world and raising Thailand’s profile in global cosmetic science.
2012–2016: SCCT expanded its offering with regular seminars, member-focused workshops, and industry-academia networking events. Scholarships and student grants were introduced, paving the way for the next generation of Thai cosmetic scientists.
2021–Present: SCCT has strengthened its global connections, expanded collaborations with leading societies and Research institution and prioritized sustainability, innovation, and professional development for all members.
